Buccella 2008 Cabernet (Napa) is now in stock. With the success of the 2006 and 2007 one would not believe that 2008 could even be close in quality – WRONG! Celia Welch (winemaker at Scarecrow, Corra, 2480, etc.) proves again her master winemaking skills. I know that many among you were wary about 2008 –again WRONG! Firstly, great winemakers will always make great wine! Second, 2008 has been surprising even the biggest critics. There is a ton of incredible wine from this vintage!
Enough said, this wine is stunning, gorgeous, awesome! Intense aromatics jump out of the glass. The palate is loaded with black stone fruit and a touch of vanilla. Amazing concentrating, yet stunning balance of fruit and acidity. Full in body and a long, satin-like finish. This wine will blow you away!
Robert Parker gives the 2008 Buccella Cabernet Sauvignon 95 POINTS and says,
“The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon, which comes from multiple fruit sources in Rutherford, Oakville, Yountville, Coombsville, Oak Knoll and Carneros, was aged in 100% new French oak. A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it exhibits an opaque purple color, great intensity and a sweet nose of blue and black fruits intermixed with toasty oak, lead pencil shavings and forest floor. Rich, layered and full-bodied with silky tannins, this broad, savory 2008 should drink well for 15 or more years.
I loved Buccella’s 2006 and 2007 Cabernet Sauvignons and 2008 continues their success. Moreover, the 2009 looks to be very charming.”

2008 in Napa Valley yielded Cabernet Sauvignon with stunning upfront fruit and unctuous textures, IF the vineyard was managed with extreme attention to detail. We were careful and lucky enough to have done the work needed and now find ourselves with a gorgeous wine to present to you. The aromatics are ripe and fruity, with sweet spice and chocolate notes not far behind. The palate has great fruit and extract without being heavy and is framed by full, ripe tannins that coat the mouth, allowing the finish to blossom. 350 cases made.
