Born in the Midwest, to a large Irish family, wine did not play a role in Justin’s life while growing up. Milk was the beverage of choice at the dinner table, and the industrial beers of the Midwest, fueled family parties. He does not pinpoint a specific moment that his passion for wine was ignited but, instead, attributes it to a series of experiences, places visited, bottles opened and friendships forged. At this point in life, he can not imagine a life without the joys of all things wine! Times can change…

Robert Parker 96 Points:”Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon 1555 Oakville wafts sensuously out of the glass with redcurrant jelly, black raspberries and rose oil scents, followed by a cassis and black plums core, with emerging suggestions of cinnamon toast, cedar and pencil shavings. The full-bodied palate is fantastically fragrant, delivering red and black fruit layers accented by floral and exotic spice nuances, supported by super ripe, velvety tannins, finishing long and perfumed. 250 cases were made.”
Winery Notes: “Hailing from the historic Bonny’s Vineyard in the heart of Oakville. Gravel rich soils promote vine roots to plumb deep into the valley floor, while leaf canopies harvest Napa’s persistent summer sunshine. These conditions conspire to produce a profound Cabernet Sauvignon terroir at this marquee Oakville site. A fantastic vintage to debut our 1555 Oakville (a play on the vineyard’s address) bottling. A cool, wet Spring contributed to a slow start, forcing us to pay particularly close attention to vine balance at each stage of the growing season. After dialing in the vines with aggressive farming practices, what resulted was a particularly late harvest — by this site’s standard — of exquisitely ripe and delicious Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Pouring a deep opaque red-violet, 1555’s Cabernet personality leaps from the glass balancing opulent fruit, damp earth, chilling minerality and an alluring spicy note that keeps pulling us back for more. Exquisitely ripe tannins provide a refined, velvety structure that expertly delivers the deep and seductively rich palate. A stunning Cabernet Sauvignon of undeniable pedigree.
