Thomas Rivers Brown’s top notch Pinot Noir

When you have two of the best winemakers (Thomas Rivers Brown winemaker at Schrader, Outpost, Maybach, Pulido Walker, Rivers Marie, Casa Piena, etc and Frederic Delivert winemaker at Clark Claudon, Martin Estate, etc.) at the helm one can only expect the best of the best.  These guys have really turned this winery around.  Tamber Bey was always a good winery, but these two ace winemakers are now now turning into a great winery.  So it was no surprise that the 2012 Sun Chase Pinot Noir will wind up with some big score in a few months – then it will be too late to acquire this new found gem.

On the nose you are greeted by gorgeous aromas of dark cherries, plums and spices.  The wine is amazing complex and vibrant.  Harmonious throughout, this youngster will please both the beginner and connoisseur. Layered aromatics and flavors wow you from start to finish.  Lush, bright Bing Cherries, hints of Asian spices, a whiff of orange zest and modest minerality are found on the mid-palate.  Very generous mouth feel and amazing silky texture palate that is loaded with red and black plums and cherries, a touch of pomegranate and just the right amount acidity.  This layered wine finishes with a long perfumed finish.
