The original landowner was afraid that the people would squat on his land, so he created tales of the cannibals living there – thus the “Carne Humana” (Human Flesh) story. The story is “cute” but the wine is very serious. This inaugural release is not just a fly-by-night wine, it is the real McCoy! The source of this fruit is the original land ground, just north of Rancho Caymus (a.k.a Caymus vineyards). The production is tiny and I would not be surprised to see this in the Top 100 later in the year! |

A very serious, multi-varietal blend of Cabernet, Zinfandel, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Petit Verdot, and Charbono. Not your “generic” type of blend, but something outside-the-box. A wine that will pair well with various cuisine, from a hardy rack of lamb, rib eye, BBQ, Tuna, etc. The wine has an amazing hue of rich purple with an exploding aroma of black fruit, bramble berries and a touch of dirt. The wine, full in body is smooth from start to finish, a real crowd pleaser! The jammy flavors of black plums, black raspberries, blackberries roll over the palate and intertwine with a touch of spice on the long, but elegant finish.
