Malbec by Screaming Eagle Winemaker will rock your palate and NOT your wallet!

In case you didn’t know it yet, it started in the late 1980s when Heidi began working for Dalla Valle as an “independent winemaker”.  She began to develop a tiny project called Screaming Eagle shortly afterwards, and from there, things escalated quickly. With 5 perfect 100-point scores for her wines in the span of just a few years, Heidi skyrocketed to international fame, setting a world record for the highest price ever paid for a single bottle of wine – $500,000 for a 6L of 1992 Screaming Eagle at the Napa Valley Wine Auction in 2000. Robert Parker proclaimed her the “The First Lady of Wine” and TIME Magazine dubbed her “The Wine Diva of Napa Valley”. Today, Heidi maintains a stable of ultra-premium client wineries, including Kenzo, Amuse Bouche, Paradigm, Lamborn & Fantesca, as well as her own brands La Sirena and Barrett & Barrett. She and her husband Bo (owner of Chateau Montelena) live among their vineyards in Calistoga. In her free time, she enjoys scuba diving, flying her helicopter, making art, and gardening.

The 2016 Malbec from La Sirena is very deep garnet-ruby in color, with aromas of blueberry, caffe mocha, savory spices, and toast. Across the palate it is a robust, hearty red wine, luscious with well-integrated tannins. Ripe fruit character dominates with black cherry, blueberry, and red currant flavors. The texture is silky and elegant, yet explosive and exciting. Great balance and length with a lingering finish of ripe fruit tart and mocha round out a beautiful and approachable expression of Malbec.
