Site” is a venture from Jeremy Weintraub (longtime Seavey winemaker). He sources from the best “Sites” in California. This latest Syrah is just a good example. The 2018 Site is sourced from the Bien Nacido Vineyard Z Block. The Bien Nacido Vineyard would be considered a “Grand Cru” if it was located in France.

This block went into Sine Qua None for many years, so you can see why it is so good!

The 2018 Syrah Bien Nacido Vineyards is another fabulous wine in this range. Deep, inky and powerful, the 2018 possesses tremendous fruit intensity allied to soaring aromatics that give the wine so much presence. Lavender, mint, spice, new leather and chocolate are some of the many notes that build over time. The 2018 is impressive. That's all there is to it. Like all these wines, the Bien Nacido Syrah is a big wine.

Jeb Dunnuck 96 Points: “The 2018 Syrah Bien Nacido Vineyards was mostly destemmed (90%) and spent 18 months in 50% new French oak. It's another inky hued effort that brings both richness and elegance. Lots of darker, briny fruits, smoked game, and black pepper notes give way to a medium to full-bodied wine that has silky yet present tannins, terrific balance, and a great finish. It's going to evolve for 15 years or more.”

Winemaker Notes: “All Syrah from the same rows of Z Block that I’ve been getting for years, this wine has an electrifying color and offers abundant aromatics of bacon fat, blackberries, black pepper, chocolate and lavender. The mouth is medium-bodied, silky and carries great acidity through the long finish.”
