Stellar “Kitchen Sink” Red Blend Under $40 WITH FREE SHIPPING!

Helen Keplinger has been crafting amazing wines for over a decade now (Bryant Family, Carte Blanche, Grace Family, Arrow & Branch, Kenzo, Paradigm, Fiddlehead Cellars etc.) She has worked with the Napa Elite (Heidi Barrett & David Abreu) and gained other valuable experience in France and Australia.  She can stand her own in this demanding wine world and her expertise is showcased in all the wines she produces.  Her main brand, Keplinger, sells for $75 and the Vermillion label is sourced from many of the same vineyards’ younger blocks, so a real bargain!

A kitchen sink blend based mostly on Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Syrah (there’s some Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, and Counoise) made by Helen Keplinger, the 2016 Vermillion is about as charming and delicious as it gets. Black raspberries, cherries, strawberries, spice, some garrigue and leafy herbs all flow to a medium-bodied, balanced wine that delivers tons of pleasure. It’s a great value and I’d be thrilled to drink bottles over the coming 4-6 years.

Winemaker Notes: “The 2016 Vermillion is a gorgeous red wine blend with layers of blackberry, raspberry, coriander, black licorice, aromatic herbs, slate, mandarin oil, and black tea. The palate is juicy and plush, with red and black fruit, medium weight, and a long finish. This is a wine for every night, every dish, any time. Vermillion is made by us from small lots sourced from different vineyards in Napa, Sonoma, and the Sierra Foothills. It is aged in 100% french oak barrels in a cold cellar for 16 months before being bottled without fining or filtration.”
