Inaugural Release Cabernet, one for the books!

In the mid-19th century, Two brothers — Adrien Pierre and Jean V. Chaix — listened to many stories of the agricultural wonders of the Napa Valley and the unique terroir perfect for growing grapes. The two young Frenchmen left their homes in Provence and immigrated to California. They settled mid-valley, purchasing prime vineyards in Rutherford, Oakville, and on Howell Mountain. Jean V. and his business partner Adolphe Brun built and operated the 13th bonded winery in California. In 1909 their great-grandfather Adrien, known as A.P., bought an 80 acre vineyard in Rutherford on the renowned Rutherford Bench. He cultivated grapes with cuttings he brought from Medoc region in Bordeaux. Over the past 100 years, grapes from Chaix Family Vineyards have gone into making many of Napa’s most distinguished wines. This is the inagural release of their own label, backed by a very impressive legacy.
