 In 1995, Greg Brewer and Steve Clifton met while working on a committee meeting for the Santa Barbara Vintners’ Association. At the time both held production jobs at Sunstone and Beckmen, respectively, and forged an immediate friendship that would ultimately germinate in the creation of Brewer-Clifton just one year later.
This bottling is comprised of 100% estate Mount Eden clone chardonnay from the Hapgood vineyard, which exhibits a broader stone fruit flesh and weight in the wine. The vineyard is Located across the road from the Machado vineyard and is situated immediately next to the Acin parcel at the end of Hapgood Road. In slightly richer soil, the vineyard is planted to the Mount Eden selection of chardonnay. The elevated clay loam content results in larger volume and a more dense palate expression. |
