After the iron curtain falls, the Molnar family returns to the old country (Hungary) discovers and helps rebuild the Kadar Hungary cooperage, and begins importing barrels to Napa and Sonoma wine country. In 1995 the Molnars plant their first vineyard, and the rest… is history. In 2003 they start making wine in earnest and a dozen years later they have a great following, although they don’t produce much wine!

A very hedonistic wine, “Boon Fly’s Hill” is the paradigm of classic California Chardonnay with aromas of toasted marshmallows, blanched almonds and vanilla-cream soda. With a beautiful aromatic mix of toasted baguette, apricots, stone fruits, and a hint of cream, this wine has an elegant mouthfeel, with wonderful minerality that adds an earthy and saline texture to the palate. The wine finishes long, emphasizing the char of tight-grained Tokaji oak barrels and a hint of spice. ONLY 125 CASES PRODUCED!
