Wine of the Year!

Alta Maria Vineyards

The San Francisco Chronicle rated the Alta Maria Pinot Noir (93 Points Robert Parker FYI) as the 2011 Wine of the Year! The tasting panel reviews 7500 – 8000 wines each year and selected this small production winery to its top wine of 2011. We have had great success with this wine, and I highly recommend it.

The wine is gorgeous from start to finish. The color is dense ruby. On the palate one is greeted by an abundance of blue and red stone fruits with a hint of earthiness and minerality. Well-balanced, this wine has the right touch of acid and fruit and offers concentration that non-Pinot lovers (i.e. Cabernet fans) will like. A juicy mouthfeel and great elegance make this a real stunner. Limited production.
