The Passenger Pigeon was once the most prolific bird in the United States with numbers in the billions. Migrating flocks a mile wide would turn the skies black and colonies could have 100 nests in a single tree. However, in the late 1800′s, the species dwindled in numbers until 1914, when the last known pigeon named Martha, died in captivity in the Cincinatti Zoo.

Retail 80.00 – GGWC $74.95
Passenger is the hot new project from wine broker Kimberly Jones and sommelier Chris Blanchard. The fruit is sourced from a “secret” Stag’s Leap vineyard. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon has an amazing aroma that jumps out of the glass. Lush, densely concentrated yet elegant. Dark black stone fruit with a touch of toasty vanilla. Well balanced and structured, this wine finishes long with modest and silky tannins. Only 102 cases produced.
