Trespass 2007 Cabernet Franc, St. Helena

An incredible follow-up to the stunning 2006 vintage. Kirk Venge, yes Nils’ son does not skip a beat with this latest release. It is beyond awesome. I would almost say that this is the best Cabernet Franc in the Napa Valley, but who am I to say.

This wine has an amazing dense purple hue and a touch of anise and black currant on the nose. Extraction would make you think it is Syrah, yet amazingly elegant this wine offers up a storm of black fruit alongside its full-bodied armor. Great balance, with the right amount of fruit and acid. The wine’s finishes with a long silkiness.
